Filmmaking roles
Assigning roles when you are working in a team is essential to the success of the project. It is important to evenly divide the work and make sure that everyone has a chance to contribute and knows what they are responsible for. When you are choosing roles in your group, it is important to consider your strengths and skills so that you are able to complete the duties of the role.
More than one student could be assigned to each role, depending on the classes involved and intended focus for the project. However, it is recommended that the director and producer roles are performed by one student each, and that a maximum of 2 students act as screenwriters.
You could be assigned more than one role during the project, such as roles that are only required during a certain stage of the project. For example, a screenwriter is only required during pre-production so the student/s involved can perform another role during production and/or post-production.
